We are SO excited to come together for our second annual SouthWest Collision Course! For all of you first timers to this event, you are in for an epic TREAT! For anyone who’s been before, get excited for a new location, new course, and lots of new friends to connect with!

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

SATURDAY:
12:00 PM arrive anytime after noon
1:00 PM set up camp, games, hang out, make some new friends!
3:00 PM meet with your teams, race rules explanation, group photo, bounce
4:00 PM – 10:00 PM WE RACE!
10:30 PM awards ceremony
MIDNIGHT lights out/quiet hours begin

SUNDAY:
7:00 AM Yoga (optional) please BYOmat
10:00 AM Depart site

THE RACE:
The main event this weekend is our relay race. You will be put on a team of 8 with other people from your tribe. Within your team, you will be partnered up with someone of a similar running pace. You will be running with your partner at all times for safety. Between 4:00 PM and 10:00 PM, your team will run as many laps as possible (each set of partners going one at a time) over our 2.5ish mile course, and marking a tally everytime a leg is completed. When the clock strikes 10 we will count up all the tallies and congratulate our winning team!

WHAT TO EXPECT TO SEE UPON ARRIVAL:
-Fire pits
-Lots of open land/space to play & explore
-All your friends
-Porta potties
*There will be no showers or actual bathrooms besides porta potties

PACKING LIST:
-Trail shoes (or your most durable/sturdy regular running shoes- we are highly recommending people stay away from light/minimal support running shoes for this event)
-Head lamp
-Sleeping equipment (sleeping bag, sleeping mat, pillow, extra blankets)
-Warm clothes for night time
-Running outfit (maybe a few outfit changes & extra layers as it will get colder into the night)
-Comfortable shoes
-Sunscreen & bug spray
-FOOD! (+ coolers/whatever you need to store food in). Due to all the variety of allergies/food preferences, we ask that everybody be in charge of their own food supply. Please make sure you have food for yourself, primarily for dinner Saturday night as we will not be providing a meal. Lunch on Saturday and breakfast Sunday can either be brought in as well or consumed before arrival or after you leave. Snacks are heavily encouraged as well! We will have fire pits that can be used for grilling anything that’s brought in.
-WATER. Hydrate hydrate hydrate. We are in the desert so let’s all make sure we have a plethora of water so nobody gets dehydrated! Bring more than you think you need!
-Yoga Mat (if interested in Sunday AM yoga)

EXTRA EQUIPMENT THAT EVERYONE CAN USE/BENEFIT FROM:

-Firewood
-Bluetooth Speakers
-Camp/beach chairs
-Games
-If we have any friends with photography/video skills- please let us know if you’re interested in helping us capture this event!
***If you do have/plan on bringing firewood, please let us know so we can have a rough idea of how much we will have!
