Family Day & Sunrise 6K…(YEG)

Like a red wine & chocolate…

Like Ernie & Bert…

Like peanut butter & jelly…

Like green eggs & ham…

Family Day & the NP Sunrise 6K are a natural pairing.

This morning the November Project Canada tribe was strong, fast & fierce as they crushed through the ice & snow to kill the first every 6K NP race.

It was definitely the earliest I’d set my alarm for a November Project workout…4:15, arriving at the race start by 4:45 so that Nadim and I could race early (aka set up the turn-around pylon). We finished neck-and-neck, crowned ourselves the winners and got ready to greet the tribe. We knew we’d be dethroned but took full advantage of our short lived lives as NP royalty!

Our top males, photo-finish style, sprinted to the finish line, with Boston Drew edging out Edmonton’s own Matt for the crown. Cathleen, one of three who have earned Ol’ 69er fame, was our top female finisher. While we crowned a top chick and top chuck this morning, everyone is truly a winner. We had first time racers, first time 6Kers, many PBers, NP newbies and NP alumni who raced their hearts out. Make sure your record your times here.

The tribe really is a family. This morning was another great reminder of what we all have within us, what we can challenge our bodies to do, and how amazing this community that we have built is. Thank you to the NPCanada tribe mates, you all made my 4:15 alarm bell worth it!

See you all Wednesday morning, back at the Royal Glenora Stairs. Be ready to get stronger, faster and fiercer!
