Doubleheader Part 2: Roller Skatin’ & Nats Baseball

Goooooood morning, Washington! Heading into this holiday weekend, we wanted to get you HYPED for our upcoming social event. If you were around last summer, you remember the positively EPIC double-header we pulled off– learning to dragon boat and crushing the Run Club Throw Down in the while it MONSOONED on us. This summer, we’re switching things up a bit– roller skating at Anacostia Park followed by a Nats game. C’mon, this is going to be FUN– AND open to all– ESPECIALLY those friends who think NP is “too early” (Pro tip: Bring some pals to a social, they’ll see how awesome NP is, they’ll want to hang out with us more, BOOM that’s how we get ’em).

Here’s the plan– we’ll skate our butts off ala Camille Preaker in Sharp Objects (TBH this reference is for me and me only but if you’re following I appreciate you). After some laps around the rink/a healthy dose of roller derby, we’ll run/bike over the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge to Bardo for some pre-game brews (and Bardo Dog!), and then head to Nats Park for an afternoon SHOWDOWN with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Hey, the Nats stink right now … they NEED some NP magic.

TICKET SALES: We have a block of seats reserved , but only for the first 40 people to reserve their spot via Venmo (@emma_cy)/Cash/Check . Tickets are $18. Paying Emma = reserving your ticket. That’s how it works!

Not sure if you’ll be able to make it? That’s OK. Even if you don’t get a seat in the NP section of 40, we HIGHLY encourage you to still come join us at the ballpark.

When: Saturday, June 15. We know summertime gets busy so set those Google Cal appointments now!

Time: 1PM for roller skating; TBD on when to head to Bardo; 4PM start time for the Nationals

Where: Meet at Anacostia Park Roller Rink (next to the Rec center)

Don’t have skates? You can rent them at the park!

Why? 1) Adults look funny on roller skates. 2) Baseball games are fun. 3) Why not?

To recap, we’re doing a social, you and all your friends/family/significant others should join us. No, you don’t need skates to roller skate, just meet us at Anacostia Park at 1PM on Saturday, June 15. Skate –> brews –> baseball. Venmo Emma (@Emma_cy) $18 to reserve a seat in the NP section at the Nationals game. Don’t have Venmo? Reach out to us. Got it? GOOD.

See you MONDAY, 6:30am, at CAPITOL HILL. Much much much much much much love, DC
