Friday Bye-day

Tonight is the fourth night of Chanukah. Next week is Christmas. Much of the tribe is traveling today, tomorrow, or soon, and it CONTINUES to rain in San Francisco. Paddy is already gone, but we can still hear his broken, off-pitch renditions of our favorite holiday carols in our ears. “Oh the weather outside is… weather.” For these reasons and others, we figured Laura and I would be running hills alone in the soggy darkness of Cole Valley. BUT ALAS! At least 40 of you showed up this morning. We love that. We love 40. We love you, those who sherpa cookies to the top of a giant hill in the cold rain. Those who go all out on that hill when it would be really easy to say “meh, I’ll go to NP again in 2015.” We even love the creepy lady who stared at us from her bedroom window as we shuffled conspicuously away from her windowsill. 2014 was a heck of a year, and we owe it all to you. Your co-leaders will all be out of town next week, some participating in workouts across the country, others tilling the fields in the lush Irish countryside and notching their accents back up to their full glory so as not to seem like too much of a yankee convert to the lads at home.

And with that, we leave you in the extremely capable hands of Ben Dickens and Josh Makaron. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for you all. Enjoy, we’ll see you soon.
