I’ve always enjoyed traverbaling to another tribe. Not only did I get to experience the NP community on a larger scale, but I got to rep my tribe. I’ve always been competitive, and knowing that my grassroots gear would stand out in another city, I pushed a little harder. That extra ounce of pride meant something to me. Now, I didn’t have to be the fastest at the workout, but I’d make sure that no one could say LAX didn’t work or throw out all the high 5s. In the early days, I remember hearing that we were the weirdest tribe, and that our workouts were tough. Well, we had traverbalers from Boston and Nola this week. Two tribes that I know put in work. On Wednesday, one of the traverbals said, “Damn, you guys don’t mess around out here.” They were right. From the start of 5:27 until the end of 6:27, the tribe put in outstanding effort on those hills. This morning, after the workout was over, our friends from Nola were flying high off of the tribe’s energy. I guess what I’m trying to say is, I’m proud of the effort that you all have shown, and I want to thank you for not tearing my head off when I push you to get in another lap.
