January 1st…365 days for you to simply rock 2016! For those of you who chose to #justshowup this morning…you are off to a great start!! Congratulations to Caitlyn, today’s positivity award recipient…a week overdue and still having #hillsforbreakfast!
As I enjoyed all of the Christmas movies on tv the last couple of weeks, the spirit of the holiday was interrupted by commercials for weight-loss diets, online dating companies, smoking cessation drugs, gym memberships, home gym equipment…basically all of those products wanting to jump on the New Years resolution band wagon.
I get it, any time there’s a chance to hit “reset” like the turn of a new year, there’s an opportunity to reflect on where you’ve been and where you’d like to go…a chance to set new goals, to look forward to new achievements and accomplishments, and to make a deliberate decision as to how you want to spend your time. But the real test is in actioning out those goals, visions and decisions. What are you going to do to accomplish all you’ve chosen to aim for? This can be the hard part.
One important step is to share your goals – say them out loud, send them out into the universe and have people around you who believe in your goals as strongly as you do. People who help hold you accountable when you are struggling through the tough days and who celebrate with you when you hit your milestones.
One of the quotes I live by is:
You have to fuel your dreams. Align yourself with people who are going to believe in them as strongly as you do.
November Project Canada is a tribe, a group of people who are there to hold each other accountable, who believe in one another, who support, encourage and challenge each other, and, above all, share in a love of community and fitness. They are people you want to be around, they are worth waking up at 5AM for a 6AM workout, their hugs, smiles and positivity are uplifting, they are the reason I choose to #justshowup every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning.
