Weekends are tough. You have all week to work and take it easy so that you can get right back to the grind on the weekend. Wait. That sounds backwards. Well for this power couple, maybe this weekend was too tough. Monday just did not happen. I thought the young guns would be able to bounce back better from a full weekend of socializing (see below).
They thought so too because they know the seriousness of a VERBAL.
Some people find new friends at November Project. Others find a great fitness routine. Even still, others find jobs, smiles, hugs, encouragement, etc. And then there’s a select few that find love. Chelsea was a dedicated fitness junkie and started coming to NP when we were young. Real young. Like pledging young. She’s got the beauty and the brains and that crazy combo is dangerous. We know that much because as soon as Brady joined NP, he was melting at the sight of her. His tongue would swell up, he couldn’t breath, he had two left feet. Tough for someone that really likes to race. Eventually he got up the courage to ask her out. How? Rumor is he stood at the bottom of the Lincoln steps with a boombox blasting Peter Gabriel’s ‘In Your Eyes’ (so romantic it could be from a movie).
Regardless, both of these cats are fast, strong, and push themselves to the limit. Racing isn’t an option, it’s a requirement. Actually, sometimes I wonder if they have any other speeds besides fast and faster. On top of that, they’re both positivity award winners. And then came today.
Beds are super comfy. Don’t get me wrong, I love laying in bed and I’m not a huge fan of getting out, throwing on my running tights and heading straight into the cold, rainy wind. But when I know my friends are waiting for me, it’s a heck of a lot easier. I just can’t handle the disappointment on the faces of those around me. When Brady and Chelsea didn’t show up this morning, that disappointment was not only on my face, but every single member that did show up. It just hung in the air. Sadness fell over the tribe. For all Brady and Chelsea know, we saw they weren’t there and just went home. What’s a workout without these two cuties?
Ok, so this is getting kind of wordy (396 so far). I’ll end with this. We’re not mad. We’re not angry. We’re just disappointed. Brady. Chelsea. WE MISSED YOU.
